Critical Illness Cover

PROTECTION FOR LIFE’S UPS AND DOWNS

PEACE OF MIND

Critical illness cover provides you with a lump sum payment in the event of a serious critical illness. Different providers have varying definitions of illnesses covered, so your adviser will advise you of the best options for you. The amount paid out depends on the amount and type of cover selected when you apply for the policy. Critical illness cover can be included as a part of your life insurance policy, or it can be taken out separately.

What is critical illness cover?

Critical illness cover pays out a lump sum if you are diagnosed with a serious medical condition, during the term of your policy. You can spend this money how you wish, at the time, but typical uses are towards a mortgage, medical bills, or adaptations to the home. This cover is usually taken out with life insurance, but can also be taken out separately.

What conditions will my policy cover?

This depends on the type of cover that you take out, and also varies between each insurer. Core conditions are always included, but with varying definitions across different providers. Our advisers have access to resources that compare the different policy types and premiums on the market, so they can recommend the right cover for you.
